RBA Economics Competition 2007
The Reserve Bank of Australia sponsors an essay competition for undergraduates studying economics at any accredited university in Australia. The competition is run by the Bank in conjunction with the UNSW Economics Society.
The 2007 Essay
In their essays, students addressed the consequences of an ageing population for Australia's future productivity and economic growth, and the associated economic policy challenges.
Winning Essays 2007
- First prize $1,500: Callum Jones, the University of Western Australia 148KB
- Second prize $750: Virginia Gogan, the University of Western Australia 40KB
- Best essay from a first year student $500: Ashley Cheng, the University of New South Wales 74KB
These students were presented with their prizes by the Governor at a ceremony at the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney on 15 October 2007.
