Editors: John Simon and Jonathan Hambur
A volume, containing the conference papers and discussions, will be published at a later date.
The theme of the Reserve Bank of Australia's conference in 2017 was ‘Monetary Policy and Financial Stability in a World of Low Interest Rates’. The conference brought together senior central bankers, market economists, academics and industry representatives to discuss the likely effects of this change on commodity markets, trade and the global economy.
The conference had three main sections: First, a focus on the historical experience of macroeconomic and financial cycles; second, investigating how policy makers responded; and third, examining what we can learn from the past and how the future should be different.
