Reconciliation Action Plan
The staff and management of the Reserve Bank recognise that reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians is the right thing to do.
We understand that, as an organisation that works in the public interest, we are more effective and, therefore, our community is better served, by having an understanding of cultural differences and a diverse workforce.
Consistent with this, we aim to contribute to reconciliation across three dimensions:
- respect: increase awareness and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures within the Reserve Bank
- relationships: build relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through our operations
- opportunities: position the Reserve Bank as a respectful employer of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our 2018/2019 Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) outlines how we will identify additional areas to contribute to reconciliation across these dimensions.
