Media Release Senior Appointment
The Reserve Bank of Australia today announced the appointment of Mr Frank Campbell as Assistant Governor (Corporate Services). Mr Campbell has held the position of Head of Domestic Markets Department for the past four years. He holds a first-class honours degree in economics from the University of Sydney. He joined the Bank in 1977 and has gained wide experience in the Economic and Financial Markets groups. Mr Campbell has held a variety of senior management positions including Head of Economic Analysis Department and Head of International Department; he also spent a period as the Bank's Deputy Chief Representative in Europe.
Mr Campbell will replace Mr Les Austin who is retiring from the Bank after a distinguished career in the Bank's economic, financial institutions, markets and corporate services groups. He will continue as a Board Member of Note Printing Australia and Securency.
Dr Malcolm Edey, currently Head of Economic Analysis Department, will move across to succeed Mr Campbell as Head of Domestic Markets. Dr Edey, a graduate of the University of Sydney, holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics. Prior to holding his current position, he was Head of Economic Research Department, and has also worked in the Economics Department of the OECD in Paris.
