Media Release Senior Management Changes

The recent appointment of Dr Malcolm Edey as Assistant Governor (Economic) leaves vacant the position of Head of Domestic Markets Department. Dr Philip Lowe, formerly Head of System Stability Department and currently on secondment to the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, will transfer to this position on his return in July. Dr Lowe holds a Commerce Degree with First Class Honours from the University of New South Wales, and a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined the Bank in 1980 and has wide experience in the Economic and Financial System Groups of the Bank. He headed Economic Research Department, before becoming Head of System Stability Department at its inception in 1998.

Until Dr Lowe returns, Mr Chris Ryan, Chief Manager, Domestic Markets Department, will act as Head of Domestic Markets Department.
