Media Release Changes to the Reserve Bank Bulletin

For many years the Bank has provided comprehensive statistics on the Australian economy and financial system in its monthly Bulletin, with extended historical data available on the Bank's website. With the website now the principal means by which most users access these data, the Bank has decided to introduce new arrangements for data that will allow their release as they become available, rather than waiting for publication of the Bulletin. The new procedures will begin on 21 January 2010; a release schedule will be provided ahead of this commencement. As a result of these changes, the Bank will no longer publish data in hard copy form.

The Bulletin will be refocused to become a quarterly publication of articles and speeches that discuss economic and financial developments as well as the Bank's operations. The last monthly Bulletin will be published on 17 December 2009 and the first quarterly Bulletin on 11 March 2010.
