Media Release Senior Appointment

The Reserve Bank today announced the appointment of Anthony Dickman as Secretary. Mr Dickman joined the Bank in 1989, after working as an economist in South Africa. He holds degrees from the Universities of the Witwatersrand and London. He had experience in the Economics and Financial Markets Groups before being Deputy Secretary over the past 5 years. His appointment is effective immediately.

This appointment follows the announcement by David Emanuel that he will retire towards the end of this year, after a career of more than 47 years in the Bank, and 24 years as Secretary. On behalf of all his colleagues, the Reserve Bank Board and the Payments System Board, I want to thank David for his outstanding service over such a long period and wish him well in retirement.
