Media Release Senior Staff Movements

Dr Bob Rankin has been appointed as the Bank's Chief Representative in Europe. Based in London, this position is responsible for the European Office's foreign exchange reserves management operations, financial market analysis and liaison with other central banks and institutions in the region. He will commence duties at the end of the year. The current Chief Representative, Dr John Veale, who has occupied the position for four years, will return to assume the position of Head of Audit.

Most recently, Dr Rankin has held the position of Assistant Governor (Currency) where he was responsible for policy direction and management of the banknote issue functions of the Bank. Dr Rankin will retain the Chairmanship of Securency International Pty Ltd during the sale process that has already been announced. The position of Assistant Governor (Currency) will be publicly advertised shortly.
