Media Release Senior Staff Movements
Chris Aylmer, presently Head of Human Resources, has been appointed as the Head of Domestic Markets Department. This transfer is the result of the impending retirement of the current Head of Domestic Markets, John Broadbent.
Mr Aylmer has 30 years of central banking experience which include senior management positions in both Economic and Financial Markets Group. He also worked at the Bank for International Settlements for two years from 2004 as Secretary to the Markets Committee. He holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of New South Wales.
John Broadbent has given 35 years of service to the Bank. This includes the past four as Head of Domestic Markets Department, which was a period of considerable change in the Bank's market operations. The Governor acknowledged Mr Broadbent's significant contribution saying:
‘On behalf of the Bank and all his colleagues, I would like to thank John for his outstanding service and wish him well in his future endeavours.’
These staff changes will take effect in early April. The position of Head of Human Resources will be advertised in due course.
