Media Release Appointment of the Head of Economic Analysis Department

Dr Alexandra Heath has been appointed to the position of Head of Economic Analysis Department with effect from 11 August 2014. This transfer is the result of Jonathan Kearns taking up a position at the Bank for International Settlements for two years.

Dr Heath is currently the Head of Economic Research Department at the Bank, a position she has held since March 2012. She holds a PhD in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an honours degree in economics from the University of Sydney. She has extensive experience in a cross-section of the Bank's activities and has published research papers on a broad range of policy-relevant topics. She also spent two and a half years with the Bank for International Settlements working on monetary policy and financial market issues.

The position of Head of Economic Research Department will be advertised in the near future.
