RITS Certificate Issuance/Expiry
Key points:
- All users must have their own RITS certificate.
- RITS certificates are issued with a lifespan of 2 years.
- Users must renew their RITS certificate prior to expiry.
- The expiry date of the RITS certificate can be found in User Privileges or by selecting the certificate in Token Administration and pressing the Certificate Details button.
- The owner of a RITS certificate and the Password Administrators will both receive an expiry email 30, 60 and 90 days prior to the expiry of the certificate. The user should enrol for a replacement RITS certificate immediately after receiving the expiry email.
- To renew a certificate either the user or the Password Administrator needs to complete a Request to Revoke/Issue Certificate/Replace Existing Certificates Form and send it to the RITS Help Desk. The form is available on the RITS Information Facility and on the RITS website https://www.rba.gov.au/rits/info under the Standard Forms tab.
- At the activation of the new certificate, the old certificate will be automatically revoked, and the new certificate will commence operation.
- If the user fails to obtain a new certificate prior to the expiry of the existing certificate, the user will not be able to access RITS until a replacement certificate is issued. As this could cause operational difficulties for your organisation, users are advised to renew their certificate before expiry.
RITS Tokens
Key points:
- The management of RITS tokens, including the availability of sufficient spare tokens, is considered an integral part of a Member's RITS operational and contingency planning.
- Members should generally think in terms of maintaining one 'live' token and one token as a back-up for each active RITS user. New RITS Members will be provided an initial allocation of 2 RITS tokens for each active user free of charge. Existing Members with less than 2 tokens per active user can apply to receive the additional tokens without charge.
- If 'surplus' tokens (in excess of 2 tokens per active user) or replacements on lost tokens are required, a charge of $200 (excl GST) per token will apply.
- Any damaged RITS tokens will be replaced, without charge, on their return.
