Note 8 Other assets

This includes shares in international financial institutions. Prior to 1 July 1984 the shares were valued at cost; they are now valued at market price and unrealised revaluation adjustments are taken to an asset revaluation reserve (Note 3). The item also includes $151.1 million ($49.5 million in 1983/84) accrued interest on Commonwealth Government Securities.

Contingent Liabilities

The Bank has a contingent liability, amounting to $67 million at 30 June 1985, in respect of the uncalled portion of its shares in an international financial institution.
